Bunny Yeager (American, 1929-2014) Bettie Page on the Beach, 1954 Kodak Film negative 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches (6.3 x 6.3 cm) From the collection of Grapefruit Moon Gallery This the original 2 ¼ format camera negative of Bettie Page posed on the beach taken in 1954 by Bunny Yeager. One of their wildly costumed shoots, the many moods of Bettie that Yeager was able to capture help cement Page's status as "Queen of the Pin-Ups." Bunny Yeager, a former model turned photographer, had a unique understanding of how to pose and capture women, especially pin-up models. Unlike many male photographers of the time, Yeager collaborated closely with Bettie Page, allowing her to feel empowered, relaxed, and in control. This mutual understanding resulted in photographs that portrayed Bettie with confidence and a natural playfulness, rather than objectifying her, as seen in this bold view. Unique to this auction of Bunny Yeager material, copyright transfer paperwork for this lot can be requested directly from the consignor upon purchase.
