Lithograph with red plate tone. Signed and inscribed "23 138". From an edition of 220 copies. On laid paper (watermark "BSB"). 43.4 x 26.8 cm. Sheet: 52 x 38 cm.
Sheet 4 from the portfolio "Kunst der Gegenwart". Published by Marées-Gesellschaft, R. Piper & Co., Munich 1923 (with blindstamp). Printed by Staatliches Bauhaus, Weimar. [AR].
- Made during the early Bauhaus time in Weimar. - The technical equipment of the art school enabled Paul Klee to make first color lithographs in 1921, while his earlier prints were colored by hand. - Published in the portfolio "Kunst der Gegenwart“ alongside prints from Max Beckmann, Lovis Corinth and Erich Heckel.

In good condition. Margins slightly unevenly discolored and with faint lightstains. The paper very slightly roughened in the upper edge of the sheet. Two tiny pinholes in the two corners of the image, probably from the making.
