• Copley’s imagery thrives on surreal mystery: whimsical and erotic elements coalesce within a cool, blue palette.
• In the 1960s, he developed his distinctive visual language, blending elements of comics, Pop Art, and Surrealism.
• In 1972 and 1982, he participated in documenta 5 and 7 in Kassel.
• Comparable paintings from the 1960s are at, among others, the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Chicago; the Centre Pompidou, Paris; and the Museum Ludwig, Cologne.

In good condition, with vibrant colors. The edges of the image show slight wear in places and isolated spots of minor color loss in the lower section. Some light soiling along the left edge of the image. A few tiny brown spots in the margins. A few traces from the production. A small retouched spots in the upper right corner of the image. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
