- This is the first time a sculpture by the artist is offered on the German auction market. - Shapiro, who died in June 2025, is considered one of the most important American sculptors of Minimalism. - Two of his bronze sculptures adorn public spaces in Berlin and Cologne, Germany. - Shapiro represented the United States at the 37th and 39th Venice Biennales in 1976 and 1980, and was part of documenta 6 in 1977 and documenta 7 in 1982.
