Norman Rockwell's A Good Sign All Over the World (1963) celebrates the international fellowship at the heart of the Scouting movement. At the center of the spirited composition, a Scottish scout performs the Highland Fling as a fellow scout plays the bagpipes. Scouts representing the United States, India, and Indonesia join in the festivities. Additional figures emerge from the background, representing Israel, Jamaica, Canada, Lebanon, and France, approaching over the hillside. Rockwell places a monumental globe and hand signaling the scout sign in the distance background sky, representing friendship, unity, and goodwill among nations.
