Pamela Nelson, a celebrated Texas painter and mosaic artist, has made major contributions to the Dallas public art scene. She is responsible for designing four DART light rail stations, and the terrazzo floor medallion at DFW Airport. Nelson has served on the board of The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, and the Emergency Artists Support League. In 2001, she was also appointed as the Vice Chair of the US Commission of Fine Arts in Washington DC by former president George W. Bush.
