Krüger L 98. Fechter L 91. Signed, dated and inscribed "Nidden" and "Probedruck". Monogrammed and dated in the stone. Trial proof aside from the edition. On brownish wove paper. 50 x 37 cm. Sheet: 56,5 x 40,5 cm.

- From the sought-after "Brücke" period. - Pechstein made maritime subjects, the simple life of the fishermen and the almost untouched coastal landscape the main motif of his expressionist work. - Painted in 1909 during Pechstein's first stay in Nida, the paradisiacal fishing village on the Curonian Spit. - In 1909, the year it was created, Pechstein showed several works at the spring exhibition of the Berlin Secession, which he retrospectively saw as his artistic breakthrough. - Further copies are in the collection of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz and the Altonaer Museum, Hamburg.
The work is registered in the Hermann Gerlinger Collection with teh number SHG 854 a.

Good overall impression. With mount staining and brownish stains. A crease or tear in the center of the lower margin. Isolated tiny holes, only visible in backlight. Edges slightly irregularly trimmed. Small paper adhesions on the uppermost black lines.
