Many drawings and lithographs remained unsigned at the time of George Bellows' death in 1925. His widow, Emma S. Bellows, and later his daughter, Jean Bellows Booth, signed remaining impressions with the artist's name followed by their respective initials (ESB or JBB). The present work retains the inscription J.B.B. applied at lower right as well as The Bellows Trust inventory number (BFT) in the outer margin. Presents well with strong tonal values. Minor handling dents throughout, with bumped corners. Minor stray marks along margins, does not appear to impact image. Moderate toning commensurate with age. Verso exhibits minor foxing. Further information regarding the printing process is found on the sheet's lower right margin. Written in pencil under the edition number is an X which indicates a working proof. Loose sheet.
