The artist; Galerie Daedalus, Berlin, Germany, 1969; Wright Auction, Chicago, Illinois, January 17, 2019, lot 287, (as Op Art); Private collection, Madison, Tennessee.
The canvas was re-stretched by Las Negras Studio in 2026. The tacking edges were strip-lined with monofilament fabric and thermoplastic resin (film) to extend them, allowing for re-stretching. The solid back wood strainer was replaced with a custom-made wood stretcher with vertical and horizontal crossbars to resemble the original support. The sea-foam green pigments were cleaned and the fragile, chalky overpaint was removed to reveal the vibrant, original color beneath. A light coat of Soluvar varnish was applied to provide an even sheen and UV protection to the surface.
