Description: This work is number 47 of an edition of 64 copies plus three proofs.
A total of 64 stained-glass works were created using every possible combination of the selected colors: four shades of black, four shades of red, and four shades of gold. Each work is marked on the back with a three-digit number indicating which of the four shades each of the three colors contains. Thus, each of the 64 works has its own unique color scheme (cited from WVZ. Butin/Gronert/Olbricht, p. 279). This piece, numbered 443, therefore uses the fourth of the four shades of black and red, as well as the third of the four shades of gold.
The work is listed among the editions on the artist’s official website. (www.gerhard-richter.com).
